Who we are

our ocean, our responsibility

Increasing water temperatures, ocean acidity, rising sea levels, and the increased frequency and severity of extreme weather events all threaten our beloved ocean planet. Not only does this pose a risk to nature, but also to coastal and low-lying island communities, and those working across the dive industry globally. Keeping global warming below 1.5 degrees is critical for protecting marine ecosystems, and those who rely on them, into the future. It’s time for the dive community and climate action to meet.

we envision a world free from fossil fuels where oceans, industry, and communities thrive & are resilient against climate impacts

Our Mission

There are currently an estimated 6 million active divers per year, dive centres in almost every country and international agencies which drive the global dive network. The marine tourism industry is also one of the largest sectors in the ocean economy.

Divers are known to be fierce advocates for ocean health and research shows that the dive industry presents a unique opportunity to motivate stronger global action on climate change. Our mission is to empower the dive community and industry and activate a new wave of climate ambassadors who will inspire the public and key decision-makers to take action at scale.

Our values

Justice – We stand in solidarity with those disproportionately impacted by climate change.

Integrity – We are transparent in our actions.

Collaboration – We work together with industry and communities to co-create change.

Diversity – We celebrate equity, diversity, and inclusion, and commit to creating safe spaces for working together.

Respect – We know that change takes time and must be grounded in trust and respect.
